Alvin Stardust is a real Glam AND Rock & Roll legend. Formerly known as Shane Fenton, Alvin built up a superb pedigree through the 60’s and 70’s and when his love of Rock & Roll became immersed with Glam his first major hit was born, “My Coo-Ca-Choo” becoming a massive seller in 1973. More big hits followed as Alvin’s reputation as a truly great and versatile performer grew so considerably.
“Jealous Mind”, “You, You, You”, “Red Dress” and “Good Love Can Never Die” were all massive hits and Alvin amassed 7 top ten chart stunners spanning 25 years! Alvin Stardust is renowned as one of the most talented performers on stage and TV to grace our lives over the last 30 years and is also admired far and wide for being ‘such a lovely, caring down to earth guy too’.
With humour and style Alvin has built a fantastic track record performing in theatres and starred in both Godspell and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as well as continuing to make endless appearances on TV. Alvin was on BBC Breakfast TV on Wednesday April 28th and Radio 2 the previous week talking passionately about his new album “I love Rock ‘N’ Roll” which features many of Alvin’s mega songs and also includes some truly wonderful Elvis Presley covers who not surprisingly is one of Alvin’s ultimate musical and iconic heroes.
We are all in for a wonderfully memorable night when Alvin joins us in Torquay later in the year for what is becoming part of a huge national ROCK ‘N’ ROLL meets GLAM tour! Alvin is better than ever on stage! Unbelievable stuff!!
